Dictatorships in Latin America had been very common during the past years, and they had usually had similar characteristics. Along this blog a comparative research between Rafael Leonidas Trujillo’s and Fidel Castro’s dictatorships will be made. Some of the characteristics of their periods in power, such as how did they seize power, the economic development during their dictatorships and the methods that they used to consolidate their power are going to be discussed. Also this project will mention how their governments affected or benefited the politics, economics and social areas of Cuba and Dominican Republic.
